“I am so proud to see an external test confirming that our Volvo FH Aero really delivers superior fuel efficiency, saving CO2 and running costs for our customers every day”, says Jan Hjelmgren, head of product management at Volvo Trucks.
“We will continue to innovate and introduce improvements of fuel efficiency which benefits both the climate and the productivity of transport companies. Fuel consumption represents a major part of the operational costs of our customers, so we know that our efforts make a difference.”
The FH Aero on test featured a 420hp D13 engine and Volvo’s I-Save package, and its new Camera Monitor System, which saves fuel thanks to its positive impact on aerodynamics. This specific model performed an average fuel consumption of 21,20 liter/100km on the test route, a 343 km journey in southern Germany across motorways and national roads.
“With the Green Truck win, Volvo Trucks has a hattrick,” says president of Volvo Trucks, Roger Alm.
“First, we were the only brand to score five stars in Euro NCAP’s first ever safety test for trucks, then we became the biggest heavy truck brand in Europe in 2024, and now the Volvo FH Aero is the most fuel-efficient truck in an independent test – I am so proud of all these achievements.”
