The New Renault Master was launched 3 years ago, and in the period since, the range has been extended to include front wheel drive and rear wheel drive drive vans, with a capacity from 8 cubic metres to 17 cubic metres. Cab chassis light variants were introduced in late 2013.

New models to be included in the Renault Master will be a front-wheel drive van suitable for local conversion to a passenger bus; a front-wheel drive platform cab suitable for bodybuilders and converters, and a new 4.5 tonne GVM enhanced payload rear-wheel drive long wheelbase van with a 2207 kg payload. In addition, a number of the rear wheel drive models can tow up to 3.0 tonnes in addition to their internal payload.

The Premium Pack offered on the Master van range includes driver and passenger side airbags, automatic headlights and rain sensing wipers, front fog lights, climate controlled air-conditioning, rear window demister, cornering double optic headlamps, hands-free key, storage compartment under passenger bench, integrated TomTom satellite navigation, reversing camera and additional door and dash storage compartments.

The arrival of the Renault Master NBI range, with new model variants, high efficiency Twin Turbo engines and additional safety and convenience features will further strengthen our product offering in the large van segment,” said Lyndon Healey, Model Line Manager for Renault Australia Light Commercial Vehicles. “We now have an even wider range of high quality, high efficiency solutions for large van and light truck customers across Australia, while the introduction of a base vehicle optimised for passenger carrying conversions provides customers with a safe, comfortable and easy-to-drive new option.

The Renault Master has made significant inroads into the large van market over the past 3 years, and is currently the fastest growing model in its segment. It was up 35.1 per cent in 2014, and is now the second highest selling large van in the market. Obviously we’re not satisfied with second place, and with the changes and improvements we’ve made to the Master line up we’re confident we have the product to meet the needs of many more Australians.”

Following the introduction of the Master NBI and range extensions, the all-new Trafic is expected to launch later in the year as well as a return to availability of the Kangoo van.
