At the Technical and Maintenance Conference, now known as the 2014 PACCAR and Dealer TMC, coming up in late October this year, workshop managers and personnel get a chance to get together and get up to speed on new topics and discuss issues around truck maintenance.

The event also sees the nearest thing any truck workshop person will ever get to the Oscars, the presentation of the 2014 Craig Roseneder Award. Nominations are now open for the award, which recognises technical and maintenance excellence in the workshop by an individual. It celebrates the professionalism of the men and women who work behind the scenes in the trucking industry’s workshops.

It is open to any individual who works full-time as a workshop manager or mechanic in the Australian trucking industry for a trucking company, supplier or commercial workshop. The award is named in honour of the late Craig Roseneder, a pioneer of the Trucksafe scheme and campaigner for the development of a safer road transport industry.

The prize for the winner includes: Return airfares to USA, full registration to attend the 2015 American Trucking Associations’ Maintenance Council meeting and Transportation TechnologyExhibition, five nights premium conference accommodation and a partner’s program registration if applicable and $1,500 spending money.

The winner will be announced at the Castrol Vecton Awards Dinner on Tuesday 28 October during the 2014 PACCAR and Dealer TMC.
