Tony Kerr’s return to trucks

An announcement this week by Isuzu about Tony Kerr’s return to trucks will see the company’s Sales Department bolstered with the appointment of Tony as National Fleet Sales Manager. Tony brings with him a broad but intensive 30-year career across the truck industry, in the light, medium and heavy duty weight categories.

His extensive experience also comprises sales, general management and operations in respected companies such as Comet/Kwikasair Express (TNT), Scania, Volgren, and Genuine Truck Bodies/Vehicle Storage and Engineering. He also studied for an MBA from Swinburne University.

Tony has said he hopes to bring to the table different perspectives and approaches that aim to first understand the customer’s business and their needs, and then work on providing satisfactory long-term transport solutions that will help customers achieve their business objectives.

“What I want to do here is to first understand our customer’s business, and their objectives,” said Tony. “We’re not just selling a truck to them, we’re also working on how that truck can grow their business.

“We’re here for our customers—to provide solutions and assist with challenges faced.

“I’m looking forward to working with such a recognised and respected brand. I couldn’t be happier with the appointment and look forward to forging new relationships.”

Commenting on Tony’s appointment, Phil Taylor, Isuzu Director and Chief Executive Officer said, “With Tony’s experience, I am confident that he will make a worthy contribution to Isuzu, and help the Sales team achieve higher levels of growth.

“Tony comes to us with a broad-ranging background, and his experience in all facets of the road transport industry will stand him in good stead for what is a challenging role.

“Working closely with National Sales Manager Les Spaltman and his team, I expect Tony to not only fit in well, but thrive in his new position with the truck market leader.”
