Toll NQX completes A$8.8 million fleet investment

Leading road transport provider Toll NQX, part of Toll Group, has made an A$8.8 million investment in its fleet with the introduction of an additional 28 B-double prime movers and eight trailers.

The additions bring Toll NQX’s fleet numbers to 175 prime movers and 1,000 trailers.

The vehicles are carrying general freight and are operating between Newcastle, Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay and Emerald.

Toll NQX National Linehaul Manager John King said the prime movers were a mix of Kenworth T409SAR and Western Star 4864FXDD15 models.

“This is a major investment for Toll NQX and part of our long term plan to increase company linehaul activities,” Mr King said.

“There has been significant company fleet growth in the past five years of over 30 per cent as we have expanded our presence across Australia.

“We are also pleased to be creating new jobs within our business, with this latest investment leading to 43 new jobs for Toll NQX drivers recruited from across Newcastle, Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay and Emerald.

“We are continually looking for ways to further serve the communities we work in and we’re proud to help fuel growth in these regions.”

The new positions bring the total number of long distance, linehaul drivers across Toll NQX to more than 100.

Mr King said safety was a main priority for Toll NQX, with all linehaul trucks fitted with a black box that tracks and monitors various activities and uses sophisticated GPS technology which can locate each vehicle with pinpoint


“Many vehicles are also equipped with cameras that capture real-world snapshots of life on the road to assist with safe driving analysis.

“These safety measures are a part of Toll NQX’s commitment to ensuring we operate to the highest safety standards possible.”
