One of Australia’s largest prefabricated building manufacturers, Timbertruss, is driving new levels of efficiency with the addition of IVECO S-Way trucks to its national fleet.
Operating from a 26-acre advanced facility in Corio near Geelong and a second site in Brisbane, Timbertruss uses automation to streamline production, reduce manual handling and speed up delivery of prefabricated trusses, wall frames and next-generation modular systems.
Timbertruss Transport Manager, Rick Munro, said the fleet renewal project sees long-serving IVECO Stralis models, some with nearly a million kilometres, replaced by new S-Way 6×4 prime movers and 8×4 rigids.
“We looked at every manufacturer, but the S-Way offered the best mix of safety, efficiency and Euro 6 emissions performance,” said Munro.
The new trucks are reported to deliver better fuel economy, improved driver comfort and excellent manoeuvrability which is critical for accessing tight housing sites.
Finished in Timbertruss’ blue and yellow livery, the trucks are equipped with rear-mounted cranes for efficient on-site unloading and supported by Adtrans Truck Centre for servicing.
In other news, the Australian Government is seeking public feedback on the reduction of speed limits on unmarked roads outside built-up areas.
