The Perth Truck and Trailer Show is on this weekend

The 2013 Perth Truck and Trailer Show will take over the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from Friday to Sunday this week.Perth Truck Show

Held bi-ennially, the 2013 Perth Truck and Trailer Show will present exhibits of new trucks and trailers, equipment and accessories; and is a must-see event for anyone who is thinking of purchasing a new truck. The Show runs from Friday 26 – Sunday 28 July and is presented by the Commercial Vehicle Industry Association (CVIA), a division of the Motor Trades Association of WA.

Show Director Peter Woods said event organisers were thrilled that all exhibition space was sold and that all major brands will be on display.

“The Truck and Trailer Show is such a major event for the industry that everyone gets involved time and time again,” Peter said.

“The Show was fully subscribed and because of an overwhelming interest we opened up more exhibition space on the concourse.”

Peter said a huge number of enquiries for the Perth Truck and Trailer Show were being taken following the recent Brisbane Truck Show.

What’s on Show!

Visitors to the 2013 Perth Truck and Trailer Show are sure to be impressed with the exhibitions, which will include some of the most exciting new trucks on the market. Take a look on its YouTube post.

The 2013 event will welcome back major truck brands including as Scania, WesTrac and Caterpillar, Hino, Iveco, Volvo, Mack, Mercedes and Kenworth and more.

Trailer companies attending include Lombardi, GTE, Drake, K-Hitch, Krueger, Parins, Howard Porter, CMIC, Maxi Trans, Vawdrey and Tieman.

Companies displaying material handling include 600 Cranes, Palfinger, WATM and Cranetech. There will also be a range of engine companies, tyre companies, electronics and truck accessories on display.

Some of the products being exhibited include:

  • From UD Trucks, Prime Movers in the GW 470 and 420 Series including the new Quon model, the MK 250 Tautliner, PK 280 Tilt tray, CK 380 Tipper (New Quon Model) and the CK 40 Prime mover.
  • Freightliner are bringing the Coronado 122 58 XT trailer set up for 140 T road trains; the Argosy 110 Raised Roof and the Coronado 114 Tipper.
  • WesTrac will bring several trucks including the CT630LS – the new frontier in driver comfort; plus the CT630 and the CT610.
  • Kenworth will be there with an exciting display including have four trucks – the K2 with ACE’s, a customer T9, a build T409 8×4 and a DAF CF85 tilt tray.
  • G&A Lombardi will bring their latest release – the Faymonville 6 axle Powermax trailer.
  • AV Trucks will be bringing several new models including the MAN TGX 26.540 6×4 Prime Mover.
  • Daimler Trucks Perth will have on display the Actros 2660 Megaspace and Axor 2633.
  • Scania will have one Euro 6 compliant vehicle, plus will be displaying one of only two special edition Black Amber v8 R-series trucks in Australia.

 An industry event for WA

As part of the Perth Truck and Trailer Show, organisers have two major events scheduled for those involved in the WA truck industry, with the Friday night industry cocktail party, and the Gala Dinner on the Saturday night.

Friday night drinks have never been more fun, with the Cocktail Party being held after the first Show day. A light and casual networking opportunity, attendees can join their colleagues for drinks and nibbles, and be entertained by one of Australia’s funniest personalities. Well-known Aussie actor and comedian Shane Jacobson will star at the cocktail party, and will surely entertain the crowds on the night.

Tickets are $40.00 per person for the Cocktail Party, which will be held in the pavilion after the Show closes on Friday 26 July.

Following the cocktail party, the ever-popular WesTrac Gala Dinner Oh What A Night will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday 27 July 2013. The gala dinner represents a not-to-be missed opportunity to network with fellow industry members. Pre-dinner drinks served from 7pm, with a three-course meal served from 7.30pm.

The evening will feature Shane Jacobson as MC, plus entertainment from the “Boys in the Band” which showcases some of the most talented, versatile, handsome and hip young guys the Australian entertainment industry has on offer. “Boys in the Band” celebrate the world’s greatest hits from the most iconic bands of the 20th Century. The evening will round out with music by one of Perth’s best jazz/swing bands, who will provide enjoyable background tunes to listen to while you enjoy your evening.

Tickets for the gala dinner are $150 per person.

 A fun family day out!

The Perth Truck and Trailer Show caters for a range of audiences – from those working in the industry, to those looking to make a purchase, and those who are just interested in the wow factor of so many awesome, shiny big trucks in the one room!

Bring the family this year – the kids won’t be disappointed. Check out the massive truck exhibitions, have a look at the remote control truck displays and demonstrations – and take a ride on a dinosaur! Thanks to Perth company Roar ‘n More, we will have two giant mechanic dinosaurs roaming the Show and giving kids a thrill!

A new feature of the Show this year is the Show will be the live seminars presented on the new stage, adjacent to the café. Visitors can watch a variety of interviews and presentations on different relevant topics throughout the day, in a casual and entertaining setting. Grab a coffee, take a seat, and have a listen; you just might learn something new! There will be presentations on the stage from 11am – 3pm daily.
