Shell is doubling its AdBlue, also known as diesel exhaust fluid, at pump presence at Coles Express locations across Australia to meet the growing demand of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) equipped trucks and continue its investment in the Australian truck network.
0Shell customers can fill up with AdBlue at the pump when refueling at an additional six new locations across major truck routes in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia, making it the most readily accessible at pump AdBlue in Australia.
Shell partnered with Cummins to deliver a Verband der Automobilindustrie (VDA) certified, high quality AdBlue solution that meets ISO-22241 1-3 industry requirements.
Bill Verhagen, Key Account Manager from Cummins said, “Our partnership with Shell has been a successful collaboration that has resulted in a high quality, conveniently available product for the growing SCR truck driver network.”
“For the last two years we have worked together to supply high quality AdBlue and Shell’s distribution network has helped us meet the demand for at pump AdBlue availability,” Verhagen added.
SCR equipped trucks are becoming more prevalent in the new truck market. The SCR technology is a conversion process which reduces harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx).
Gavin Corcoran, Shell Transport Marketing Manager said currently around 50 percent of new trucks are built with SCR technology and require AdBlue to reduce emissions.
“With most truck manufacturers signaling they will incorporate SCR technology to engines to meet next level emission regulations, it will be important for drivers to access AdBlue conveniently at the pump whilst filling up,” Corcoran said.
Peter Short the General Manager of Coles Express said, “It’s a convenience factor for truck drivers to have AdBlue available at the pump. Drivers can fill both diesel and AdBlue tanks simultaneously at one location, saving time and another stop.”
AdBlue is also sold in 10 litre packs at more than 140 Coles Express and Shell retail sites.
