The 2014 edition of the Truck Trailer and Equipment Show is on track to become the biggest trucking event Australia has ever seen.
Less than half a month after renowned fleet executives including David Simon and Glen Cameron sounded the bell for the start of the marketing campaign, the battle for exhibition space is now in full swing.
According to Show Director Clint Hendry, the support from the transport industry has been overwhelming so far, and with only a few days left for 2012 exhibitors to renew their space for next year’s show, the exhibitor list is looking to be the biggest yet.
In fact, the country’s most prestigious brands have already sealed the deal and are now preparing for the event in April. But its not only major truck brands that have signed up already, some new players in the market have expressed interest as well and are expected to join the industry heavyweights shortly.
Leading companies like MTU Detroit Diesel and Cummins have also saved a prime spot already, with Detroit announcing to significantly increase the brand’s footprint from the 2012 Show. The two engine experts join an illustrious line-up of component suppliers including SAF-Holland, Fuwa K-Hitch, BPW Transpec, Hendrickson, MaxiPARTS, Truckline and Alcoa.
On the trailer front, the event is already set to outshine any showcase the country has seen before. “We’re only two weeks in, and it’s already safe to say the show has the potential to become the most complete line-up of transport equipment ever staged,” said Hendry, emphasizing that the four-day event event will be all about ‘giving back’ to the industry.
“Our new concept with additional, centrally located buildings has given the show a whole new feel, and the industry has embraced it on the spot. The feedback we receive is that a transport hub like Melbourne does need a world-class event tailored to suit our industry, so we worked hard to exceed the expectations.
“But, we didn’t just want to stage yet another truck show, we wanted to create something that will make our industry proud,” Hendry added. “It’ll be a market place for innovation, but also a gathering point of the smartest people in our industry; and above all, a platform to represent the transport industry in Australia. It’s absolutely crucial to represent the industry with passion in a time like this, and that’s what the show will be all about.”
According to Clint Hendry, some “major announcements” are yet to come as the 2014 ITTES is on its way to become a game-changing industry event.
