The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued a product safety recall notice for MBE 4000 engines with the model series 4067MT6E installed in Freightliner and Sterling trucks of model years ‘04, ’05 and ‘06.
The problem centres around the engine’s low pressure fuel lines that may leak fuel and thus create a potential fire hazard.
Owners of the affected vehicles are urged to contact the nearest MTU Detroit Diesel Australia dealership to arrange an inspection and repairs if required.
A full list of authorised MTU Detroit dealerships can be found at www.mtudda.com.au/dealer-search.html.
