Paccar Australia – manufacturer of Australia’s number one heavy-duty truck brand, Kenworth – has been named Employer of the Year at the Victorian government’s recently held Training Awards 2012.

Joe Rizzo, managing director of Paccar Australia, accepted the award from Peter Hall MLC, the Victorian minister for education and skills.

“It is a great honour to be recognised as the best employer in the state – and it’s doubly so for us,” Rizzo said. “This is testament to our long-term commitment to maintain a highly-skilled workforce so that we can continue to produce world-class products and services.”

Kenworth’s Bayswater manufacturing operation remains the backbone of Paccar Australia. It has designed and manufactured uniquely Australian trucks for 41 years. More than 45,000 Kenworth vehicles have been delivered to Australian customers as well as exported to New Zealand, Thailand, Japan and Papua New Guinea.
