New name for Cat

The Challenges Standing in the Way of Effective Fatigue Management

In an announcement, the organisation bringing the Cat brand of trucks into Australia said it is to change its name from the current NC2 Global Australia to Navistar Auspac (Australia Pacific). This change reflects the reality, which has been the case for some time, the Caterpillar company is no longer involved in the ownership and running of the organisation bringing Cat Trucks into Australia, it is a fully owned subsidiary of Navistar in the US.

Changes are unlikely to be noticed by the Cat Truck buying public who will still be dealing with Caterpillar dealers around the country and the Cat branding of the trucks is set to remain. The staff of the current NC Global will remain in place as the change is made to Navistar Auspac.

Navistar sell trucks around the world under the International brand but sell Cat branded trucks both here in Asia Pacific and into vocational segments in the US. Some specialised International branded trucks are also sold here in Australia, into the mining sector.

“This is an extremely positive and timely change,” said Kevin Dennis, managing director, Navistar Auspac. “Navistar sees growth opportunities in the Australian, New Zealand and Pacific markets, and we are committed to realising the potential.

“To have a major company like Navistar put its name to this region creates assurance for our current and future customers that they are dealing with a company that is totally dedicated to the truck business. It’s certainly refreshing to now be officially operating under one powerful and widely respected brand name.”
