An Australian truck automatic transmission distributor has partnered with a major US supplier of innovative control technology. Curtiss-Wright Corporation’s Industrial division has announced an expansion of its global distribution network with the appointment of, Australian company, Heavy Automatics, as its representative for the Arens Controls brand in Australia and New Zealand.
“Heavy Automatics specialises in heavy-duty truck transmissions and is recognised for its experience in this sector,” said Kevin Rayment, Curtiss-Wright Industrial division’s Senior Vice President and General Manager. “This makes them an ideal partner for the Arens Controls range of operator interface control systems and power management products.”
Established 25 years ago, and with offices in Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Heavy Automatics is a supplier of heavy-duty automatic transmissions to equipment manufacturers in the transport, mining, refuse and concrete sectors.
In the future, Heavy Automatics will be responsible for the distribution and support of the Arens Controls portfolio of products, including by-wire shift selectors for automatic and automated manual transmissions for on-highway vehicles and off-highway mechatronic controls including multiple-function operator consoles and hydrostatic lever controls.
Key products include hybrid vehicle power management systems such as traction inverters, DC/DC converters, DC/AC inverters and power distribution modules.
