Mackie will take over from Jost Asia President, Peter Ormond, who has led the Sydney-based company on an interim basis. Moving from Paccar Parts Australia, where he most recently served as General Manager, Mackie also held the National Sales and Marketing Manager role at Paccar Parts before, and worked with Ford Motor Company in various managing roles

Narva Blue-Spot Safety Lamp

A new LED work light uses the colour blue to warn others of the approach of any mobile equipment. Narva says it has heeded the call for a safer working environment by launching a new ‘Blue Spot’ L.E.D safety light to mitigate Occupational Health and Safety concerns.

The new light is designed to be fitted to mobile equipment like forklifts and other similar equipment used in materials handling applications, warning pedestrians and other equipment of an approaching forklift. Reversing alarms are already mandated on such equipment, in loud and busy working environments like heavy vehicle workshops, the alarm can be lost amongst the noise.

With a concentrated light projection the Blue-Spot safety light can be mounted to the forklift’s protective roof frame, casting a beam approximately 500mm wide at 5 metres onto the floor ahead, warning others of the intended driving path.

The new safety addition is valuable to anyone crossing from a blind angle such as in between racking in front of an oncoming forklift.

The 9-110 volt light features two XP-E 3 watt LEDs and is programmed to be a constant beam. The unit’s dimensions are 100mm high x 122mm wide x 82mm deep.

By using LED technology, the light is designed to take a low current draw (0.4A at 12V and 0.2A at 24V) helping to achieve a long service life.
