New ATA NSW manager appointed

Jodie Broadbent, new manager at ATA NSW

The new manager of ATA NSW, Jodie Broadbent, has been the senior policy adviser at the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) since February 2011.

The change follows current manager Jill Lewis’s acceptance of a position outside the trucking industry. During her four and a half years in the role, Ms Lewis forged close relationships with the RMS and the O’Farrell Government, as well as other key stakeholders.

ATA NSW chairman Jon Luff said he looked forward to working with Mrs Broadbent, and congratulated Ms Lewis on her exceptional service to the organisation over the years.

“Jill has done a spectacular job getting the organisation to where it is now from its fledgling beginnings,” Luff said. “Under Jodie’s guidance, ATA NSW will continue to advance. Like all ATA member associations, ATA NSW has already benefited from Jodie’s work at the ATA.

“She grew up with diesel in her veins, and her long experience with the industry will make her a tremendous asset to the team.”

Mrs Broadbent said she was excited about the challenges of this new position.

“I am keen to meet our ATA NSW members, and work with our Policy Council and those involved with the port to achieve the best outcomes for our members,” she said.

“Our industry is often portrayed in a negative light, and I’m determined to change the way our members are perceived by the general public.”

Broadbent has previously held positions in the Compliance & Enforcement Policy section of VicRoads. She is qualified as a lead auditor in OH&S and environmental standards, and has extensive experience creating policies and procedures for transport companies.
