NatRoad’s annual flagship event will this year take place on August 2 – 4 at the Sanctuary Cove Hyatt Regency on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
Delegates will hear from key people on the transformative issues for 2012/13 including the orchestration of Heavy Vehicle National Law by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator and the Road Safety Remuneration Act 2012 that will establish set pay and related conditions for trucking industry employees and owner drivers.
Other topics covered will include trucking and the mineral resources sector, the future of technology in transport and risk management and accreditation.
New for 2012 will be concurrent delegate forums for carriers in the following sub-sectors:
• Refrigerated freight;
• Over-dimensional freight and dangerous goods;
• Bulk liquid and dry powder freight;
• Container and general freight.
The delegate forums will see NatRoad members and stakeholders collaborate to draft motions on key sectoral issues for tabling at the NatRoad parliament. Motions carried will shape NatRoad’s policy and advocacy agenda for the next 12 months.
As in previous years, the NatRoad conference 2012 will incorporate its parliament and annual general meeting, as well as presentation of the NatRoad Awards 2012, sponsored by National Transport Insurance.
With a hard-hitting agenda, conference master of ceremonies Max ‘Tangles’ Walker will be on hand to lighten the mood. Delegates will also have the opportunity to let off steam at the MaxiTRANS and Thermo King auction dinner and the Paccar and Cummins gala dinner, where they will be treated to a special performance by Australia’s country music sweetheart, Tania Kernaghan.
In the spirit of supporting the road transport industry, registration fees start at just $473 GST inclusive. Registration forms can be obtained by visiting the NatRoad website: natroad.com.au/natroad-events/2012-annual-natroad-conference.
