The 17th annual National Road Transport Hall of Fame Reunion saw around 1000 truck drivers and trucking industry members travel to Alice Springs to recognise the 130 inductees of the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame, who were honoured for their lifetime of service to the transport industry on Saturday, August 25.
The event, which has been sponsored by Shell for the past 12 years, was part of a four-day celebration which included a raft of activities for participants to enjoy.
According to Gavin Corcoran, Shell transport marketing manager, “Shell is a proud, long-term sponsor of the National Road Transport Hall of Fame and in particular the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame celebrations. It is always such a great experience to come up to Alice Springs and honour the hard work and achievements of the dedicated drivers from the Australian road transport sector.
“This is a particularly important sponsorship for Shell as it ensures the longevity of the road transport industry’s heritage in Australia. It also provides us with the opportunity to interact face-to-face with key transport figures and highlight our growing regional service offering and how it can support the overall industry,” he said.
