Attendees at the upcoming Livestock, Bulk and Rural Carriers Association will have an opportunity to meet Zoe Bunning at the association’s upcoming conference. Zoe obtained her MC licence in 2021 at the age of 22 and is currently employed by Hy-Tec as a Tanker Driver.

A third-generation professional truck driver, Zoe was accustomed to trucks and the heavy vehicle industry from a young age. Her dad, pops and many uncles were professional truck drivers and excellent role models for Zoe as she chose her own career pathway.

After finishing school and delving into a few administrative roles in local trucking companies Zoe took the leap and followed her dream to become a truck driver.

Zoe can now be seen driving a 21m B-double cement tanker across regional and metro NSW.

Zoe can operate agitator trucks, batch concrete, drive front end loaders and drive B-double tankers making her highly respected by both her peers and clients.

A strong passion, combined with a strong drive is destined to ensure Zoe achieves a successful and rewarding career in the heavy vehicle industry.

Zoe has been nominated, as one of the latest batch of young achievers, for the LBRCA of NSW Young Driver of the Year Award, sponsored by SafeWork NSW, to highlight outstanding dedication and commitment by young heavy vehicle drivers aged between 21-35 years to driving and safety.

The Award plays an important role in encouraging and promoting the positive achievements of young drivers as well as showcasing the livestock, bulk, and rural heavy vehicle transport sector as a viable and rewarding career choice.

Inaugural recipient of the Award and the current Award Chair Reggie Sutton said the LBRCA is proud to be developing our future leaders.

“Young people are the key to Australia’s transport industry future, and we must encourage and inspire them to share their perspectives and solutions now,” says Reggie.

“I congratulate each of the finalists and wish them the best of luck on Friday 27 May 2022 when a winner is announced in conjunction with the LBRCA annual conference in Wagga.”

The winner will be awarded an industry study tour to the value of $5,000 to America, New Zealand or Western Australia, represent LBRCA young drivers and bea safety ambassador for Safework NSW.
