Knorr-Bremse will supply one of the world’s leading truck manufacturers with around 200,000 Electronic Levelling Control (ELC) systems annually in the coming years.
The truck manufacturer has extended its supply contract with Knorr-Bremse, which has been in place since 2007, until 2033.
The order volume for Knorr-Bremse is in the lower triple-digit million-euro range.
Bernd Spies, Member of the Executive Board of Knorr-Bremse AG and globally responsible for the Commercial Vehicle Systems division, said: “We have been supplying our customers with our Electronic Levelling Control systems for almost two decades.
“Since then, the system has undergone continuous development and proven its worth – and fleet operators appreciate its flexibility, safety, and economy in daily use.
“We are very pleased to continue this long-standing, trusting partnership and to equip the trucks of the future with our ELC systems.”
The contract, which is now valid until 2033, covers both the equipment of current vehicle series and the subsequent platform. Knorr-Bremse will supply its customer with a total of around 200,000 systems in three model sizes annually.
Knorr-Bremse said ELC ensures that the vehicle automatically adapts to different conditions.
“For example, ELC compensates for height differences between the truck loading area and the loading ramp, distributes loads evenly and adjusts ground clearance,” the company said in a statement.
“Not only does this facilitate loading and unloading, but also improves traction – especially in snow and slippery conditions – and driving stability when heavily loaded. The electronic control system also protects the air suspension bellows and reduces fuel consumption.”
