The Public Information and Inquiry Centre which was activated in support of the flood operation in northern NSW will close at 6pm today.
More than 1100 calls have been taken in two days from members of the public seeking a range of flood-related information.
Members of the public seeking emergency assistance during a flood or storm should call the NSW State Emergency Service on 132 500, or visit their website www.ses.nsw.gov.au.
For the latest on road closures, members of the community can visit the website www.livetraffic.com or call 132 701.
Members of the public in flood-affected areas should continue to listen to local radio stations, or check the websites listed below, or contact their local council.
For weather warnings, check www.bom.gov.au.
Members of the public can also visit www.emergency.nsw.gov.au for a range of flood-related information.
For all other emergencies, the public are advised to contact Triple Zero (000).

Up to date Information on Queensland road conditions can be found on the 131940 website or by phoning 131940.
Information specifically for the heavy vehicle industry can be found at: http://131940.qld.gov.au/Industry-Information.aspx. This website contains the Heavy Vehicle Road report, and information regarding road closures and signage.

New signage has also been developed for roads affected by wet weather and flooding.
Also, in limited circumstances, approval can be given for a person to drive past a Restricted Road Use Notice (sign).
A number of heavy vehicle and freight restrictions are in place and are available from the Heavy Vehicle Industry Road Report this can be cross referenced with the road freight network to assess your journey.
