Leading sideloader supplier Hammar Australia Pty Ltd has announced the recent opening of its Western Australian branch and service centre at Bibra Lake in Perth.

“After seeing the success of our Brisbane service centre, which we opened eight years ago, as well as taking into consideration the isolation of Perth, we took the strategic decision to open a branch there,” said Hammar Australia managing director Peter Levison. “This is a marked difference to our competitors, who only have a limited presence at the service level.”

Hammar’s WA branch, Hammar Service, is a dedicated service/ manufacturing centre with parts and production stock being delivered directly from the company’s head office in Sweden.

“With manufacturing based in WA, lead times will greatly improve for local deliveries,” Levison emphasised.

Overseeing the Perth facility is Hammar’s national service manager, Malcom Thompson, who also runs the Brisbane operation. Thompson has been involved with the Hammar product for some 15 years and has been employed by the company for eight years.

“We will bring with us to Perth the same philosophy that has seen our branch in Brisbane flourish—that is just doing what is right for our customers.” Thompson said.

On the ground and in charge of day-to-day operations of the Perth branch is Jim Arnold. He joined the Brisbane branch as a mechanic in 2005 and has an intimate knowledge of the Hammar product. Arnold’s promotion and transfer to Perth is testament to his work ethic and dedication to Hammar and its customers.

Arnold will be joined by Peter Pedersen, a Perth-based mechanic with a long history working on Hammar sideloaders. Pedersen also has strong local knowledge and an excellent understanding of the local sideloader industry.
