It seems that global trucking and Covid-19 is the same all over. This news story is in Canada, but it could just as well be in Australia, and probably every developed country around the world.
Luckily for the rest of the population, truckies around the world are used to being treated badly and carry on regardless, finding a way to get the job done.
This particular story is from The National, the Canadian Broadcasting Company’s flagship news show, but it could be anywhere.
When we get to the end of this, the truckies of the world will be able to say that they did more than their fair share to get their community through this crisis, but without the help of selfish and thoughtless people who have no idea what it’s like to be on the road as a full time truck driver.
This US TV report does show some appreciation of the role the trucks and truck drivers and getting the message across about just how much the livelihood and vital supplies depends on the trucking industry carrying on and doing its job.
We will know when this global trucking and Covid-19 crisis has passed, that will be when the needs of the trucking industry start getting completely ignored again.
