Willett Transport, a family-run operation that is fast becoming a serious player in regional and interstate freight, recently spoke to Australian Truck Radio.
What began with a single truck borrowed from Scott Willett’s uncle has grown into a fleet of 26 trucks and 62 trailers, with further expansion on the horizon as the business moves into Brisbane to service North Queensland and Mount Isa.
“We’ve just about doubled in the past 18 months,” Willett told Australian Truck Radio.
“It’s been full throttle, but we’re keeping it family. That’s what keeps it grounded.”
The Willett operation runs a mix of linehaul and regional distribution work, handling everything from groceries to hardware.
At the centre of the interview, and the yard, is the fleet’s standout Kenworth T909, affectionately named The Boss.
