The Livestock, Bulk and Rural Carriers Association of NSW has a history of encouraging commitment and dedication in young people in rural transport and has announced the latest batch of young achievers.

Each year since 2015 SafeWork NSW has supported the LBRCA Young Driver of the Year Award to highlight outstanding dedication and commitment by young heavy vehicle drivers aged between 21-35 years to driving and safety.

The Award plays an important role in encouraging and promoting the positive achievements of young drivers as well as showcasing the livestock, bulk, and rural heavy vehicle transport sector as a viable and rewarding career choice.

Inaugural recipient of the Award and the current Award Chair Reggie Sutton said the LBRCA is proud to be developing our future leaders.

“Young people are the key to Australia’s transport industry future, and we must encourage and inspire them to share their perspectives and solutions now,” said Reggie. “I congratulate each of the finalists and wish them the best of luck on Friday 27 May 2022 when a winner is announced in conjunction with the LBRCA annual conference in Wagga.”

The winner will be awarded an industry study tour to the value of $5,000 to America, New Zealand or Western Australia, represent LBRCA young drivers and be a safety ambassador for Safework NSW.
