Jamie Healey was one of those nominated for the Livestock and Rural Transporters Association of Queensland Young Person in Transport Award after coming into livestock transport with no experience just a couple of years ago.

Jamie is a Livestock Transport Operator for Seiler’s Transport and started with the operation in 2019. He had no experience transporting livestock, but came in with a great attitude and dedication developing into one of the most capable operators in the Seiler’s fleet. 

Moving quickly from his HC to a MC licence within his first 12 months in the industry, he also obtained his Basic Fatigue Management certificate within three months and is now a part of the Advanced Fatigue Management group working in the business.

Jamie regularly goes above and beyond expectations to support the team, customers and company values. His calm nature fits with Seiler’s approach to handling livestock, with several customers requesting Jamie to transport their livestock.

He treats customers with respect and is always conscious of others. Reflecting the company’s core values, which provides the operation with a competitive edge in the market. The way he conducts himself both at work and as a member of the community is a credit to him.

As an integral part of the team, he is always willing to take on tasks that further his skills. Jamie has completed training in his own time that has benefitted both him and the business.

Prior to coming to Seiler’s Transport Jamie was a member of the Australian Defence Force from 2012 to 2019. He was part of the Royal Australian Corps of Transport with in the Australian RegularArmy. Where he was a specialist driver, transporting various high importance cargo.

“Jamie is a likeable character who is easy to get along with,” says his employer, Cliff Seilers. “He is well liked and respected amongst his work family and community alike. Jamie enjoys fishing, golf, rugby league and generally all things outdoors.”
