Allison will utilise the Melbourne ITTES (International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show) on March 15-17 to highlight its latest technology 2000, 3000 and 4000 Series automatic transmissions installed in North American, Japanese and European trucks.
Allison automatic equipped vehicles are sold in Australia across a wide variety of applications, from distribution to waste collection, fire services and off-road tipper.
The company asserts that trucks and buses fitted with its transmissions are achieving impressive fuel economy, thanks to key features such as Load Based Shift Scheduling (LBSS) and Vehicle Acceleration Control (VAC), which maximise efficiency under varying loads and throttle settings.
Several manufacturers will feature Allison equipped trucks at the Melbourne ITTES.
Fuso, for example, will display a 2500 Series equipped Fighter FK Automatic that’s ideally suited to city delivery work.
In addition, Isuzu will debut its all-new FVY 1400 6×4 agitator featuring an Allison 3500 Series automatic with a power take-off (PTO) that’s said to be ideal for concrete mixer applications and a highly competitive tare weight for maximum payload potential.
UD will feature its Condor range of medium-duty trucks, all of which can be optioned with Allison automatics. The PK 16 250 is available with a five-speed 2500 Series unit while a six-speed 3000 Series remains available in other PK models.
The British built Dennis Eagle Elite 2 integrated refuse truck is available in five standard configurations including 4×2 RHS (right-hand steer), 4×2 Dual Control, 6×4 RHS, 6×4 Dual Control and 8×4 RHS configurations, all equipped with 3000 Series automatics and Cummins ISL engines.
Meanwhile, Mack’s Metro-Liner, available with a 4430 six-speed automatic with integral output retarder, is aimed primarily at construction and mine service support operations.
Completing the multicultural array of Allison equipped trucks on display at the ITTES is Iveco’s Eurocargo 225E28 6×2 featuring a 3000 Series six-speed automatic.
