CAT on a mission

Media information out of the US is these days very

much based on media spin. A company makes a

statement which is designed to outline its intentions but

when questioned on the finer details the company spin

merchants often call a close to discussions and head out

  the door.

As PowerTorque has been reporting in recent issues,

NC2 Global LLC, the 50/50 global joint venture

between Caterpillar Inc. and Navistar International Corporation, has finally confirmed it is set to launch Australian operations, with truck sales wearing the Cat badge to begin mid-year.

NC2 Global LLC will develop, manufacture and distribute commercial trucks globally, outside North America and India. The product line will feature both conventional and cab-over truck designs and will be sold under Cat brand in Australia.

“Australia is a top priority market for us, and we are committed to taking full advantage of its strong potential,” said Al Saltiel, NC2 president.
